A chance meeting in New York, a long distance relationship across the Atlantic and Adrianna and James celebrated their love with their wedding in the city of Oxford - a place very close to their hearts. Rain, sun and a whole lot of love - their wedding day had a bit of everything!
Kind words
Rachel is absolutely amazing and one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
The day went by so fast, and Rachel captured everything so perfectly and beautifully -- from the big moments to the small moments that we missed -- I don't think there are enough words to fully express how grateful my partner and I are for all of the priceless memories she has given us that we will treasure forever.
She was incredibly attentive, responsive, and flexible in the lead up to our wedding day, and she brought so much fun, energy, and joy while she was capturing the day. She also went above and beyond for us numerous times. For example, helping me get into the car dry and safe when it was absolutely pouring down rain, and running with us to capture a last-minute shot idea we had when the sun finally came out.
We feel so lucky to have found Rachel and Veiled Productions. If you are looking for a videographer, look no further!

Preparations at The Randolph Hotel Oxford
Adrianna and James chose not to have the preparations captured on film but wanted the moment they saw each other for the first time and it was such a special moment! Adrianna looked amazing in her stunning dress and hair and make up styled by Lisa from Lisa Murphy Hair and Makeup.
The plan was to take some photos around Oxford prior to the ceremony but the British weather had other ideas! After a quick hop into a tax aided with umbrellas, we all arrived at Wadham College ahead of the ceremony.
Wedding ceremony in the chapel at Wadham College, University of Oxford
James attended university at Wadham College and Adrianna lived with James in Oxford for a short while which is why they chose to get married in the city which means so much to them. Living in America and planning the wedding abroad meant they were keen to have help from a UK based wedding planner. Joanna from Joanna Wilford Weddings and Events did a brilliant job ensuring the wedding celebrations ran smoothly - communicating with all the suppliers in the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself.
University college chapels often have the seating on the edge of the chapel facing inwards. I love this style because we can see the guests faces so clearly here as Adrianna walks down the aisle. Such a beautiful moment as her Dad holds back the tears too!
My favourite moment of any wedding ceremony is when the couple say their vows to each other and Adrianna and James' were incredible. They both wrote personal promises to each other which were funny, heartfelt and so so special. It's these moments that are invaluable to have captured on film to watch back every year.
Drinks reception at Wadham College, Oxford
After the newlyweds exited the chapel, a feast of canapés and drinks welcomed them. A brilliant moment was when James went to fetch prosecco for him and his new wife and she didn't realise and headed out of the room! I love capturing these moments on film because Adrianna didn't see James then give the glass to his best man instead - a funny moment they can laugh about for years to come.
Wadham College has some beautiful areas for photos and the British weather delighted us with the sun making an appearance at the perfect time! Matt from Matt Fox Photography did a brilliant job taking natural photos as well as posed group shots.
Newlywed photos in Oxford City Centre
As the rain had stopped, Matt and the newlyweds dashed quickly to the Bridge of Sighs for some couple's shots in the iconic areas of Oxford city centre. An interesting fact I didn't know until now is that the bridge is officially called Hertford Bridge. The bridge was constructed to link the old and new quadrangles of Hertford College, allowing students to cross between the buildings without having to go outside. It's known locally as the Bridge of Sighs, named after the famous bridge in Venice!
Walking quickly meant lots of giggles that Matt captured perfectly - I love the people in the background looking too! We returned at speed to catch the big red bus Adrianna and James had hired to transport their guests from Wadham College to Cherwell Boathouse. The Vintage Red Bus Company is a family run business based locally in Buckinghamshire who supplied the gorgeous double decker for the afternoon.
Fun wedding reception at Cherwell Boathouse
Arguably the best thing about Cherwell Boathouse is the punting along the river! James and Adrianna boarded the punt on arrival to have ten minutes together, just the two of them. Something we recommend all couples do, as the day goes by so quickly! Guests were also able to punt themselves or take a ride down the river with experienced guides.
After some more drinks and a group photo of everyone, Adrianna and James entered the marquee and cut the incredible wedding cake designed and made by Cake by Rachel, based locally in Chipping Norton. The floral design complimented the decor of the marquee and Adrianna's bouquet perfectly. All the flowers for the ceremony and reception were designed and supplied by Flowers by Kirsty. Sister duo, Kirsty and Bex, are awarding florists based in Wantage specialising in personal and creative floristry.
Wedding speeches in the marquee at Cherwell Boathouse
Another part of the day that we think is so valuable to capture on film are the speeches and toasts! It's so enjoyable on the day but you'll be surprised how much of what was said can be forgotten the following day. Watching them long after the special day will bring back the emotions and something you can treasure forever. Adrianna and James' were no exception with toasts from family who had travelled from Brazil plus a unique 'news broadcast' by James' best man and friends. I always ask for a copy of any video content included in speeches so that I can blend the footage from the day with the video being shown.
First dance in the lower boathouse
Adrianna and James wanted a band to keep the dancing going all night and Ear Candy Oxford delivered! The dancing and evening entertainment is one of my favourite parts to film because you can expect the unexpected. Adrianna and James were so much fun - dancing with personalised sunglasses and disco light up sticks!
Couples photoshoot at Cherwell Boathouse
Although the British weather had hidden the sun for golden hour, the light over the River Cherwell still made for some gorgeous photos. Even the geese made a special appearance for unique wedding photos!
Photobooth fun with The Flash Fox
Matt also supplied the photobooth via his company The Flash Fox. It's the perfect accompaniment to his wedding photography and it's so much fun! I highly recommend a photobooth as it means there are silly photos alongside the formal photos and any photos you've not had a chance to take with family and friends you can do so in the booth.
Oxfordshire wedding videographer
On the day of the wedding, Daria assisted me and filmed some additional footage to gain some experience of filming weddings whilst studying for her degree. We had a lot of fun and are very grateful to Adrianna and James for allowing Daria to help on their special day.
